Episode 344 - Bridget Scholljegerdes, Part 1: The Value of a Mechanical Exam with the Dizziness and Balance Patients

In episode 344 of season 9, we’re shifting our conversation once again this season to dizziness and balance with Ms. Bridget Sholljegerdes. She shares how she found herself working with this patient population, the primary mechanisms she understands these symptoms to be coming from, some patterns of what effectively resolves these symptoms, and more. This week on MCF!

Bridget Scholljegerdes is a licensed physical therapist and clinical director at Fyzical Therapy and Balance Center in Las Cruces, New Mexico, where she has been employed for eleven years; all the while, working alongside owner and fellow physical therapist and MDT diplomat, Denise Campbell. After graduating in 1999 with a bachelor’s degree in health science from the University of Missouri-Columbia, she has had the opportunity to work in several states including: Wyoming, North Dakota, and New Mexico.  Bridget was introduced to mechanical diagnosis and therapy (MDT) in 2010 and became certified in MDT in December of 2014. In addition to MDT, she also specializes in complications with balance and gait, vestibular and vertigo disorders, diaphragmatic breathing, and sacroiliac joints, to name a few. 

Bridget also owns Elevate Gymnastics and Athletics in Las Cruces, New Mexico where she is the head coach and executive director. She has been a gymnastics coach, level 10 judge, and professional member with USA gymnastics for the past twenty years. She is also a member of the National Association of Women’s Gymnastics Judges (NAWGJ) state board. 

In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter, exercising, and participating in triathlons, as well as traveling domestic and abroad.
