In episode 195 I’m joined by Dr. Kay Scanlon of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania USA.  She shares her journey, from traditional private practice, to teaching in higher education setting, to consulting, and now in a cash-based private practice.  She gives us her mantra when working with patients, some best professional advice she’s received, tips on what’s working with her practice and more. Dr. Kay Scanlon is a 1981 Graduate of Hahnemann University with a post-graduate Certificate in Physical Therapy and obtained a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Arcadia University in Spring 2008.  Kay is a certified orthopedic clinical specialist awarded by the Board of Specialties within the American Physical Therapy Association since 1995.  Kay received her Diploma in Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy in 2005, she’s an adjunct faculty at several universities in the Philadelphia area including Arcadia University, the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia and Jefferson University.

Kay is actively involved in both the Pennsylvania Physical Therapy Association and the American Physical Therapy Association, and she was a board member of the Private Practice Section of the American Physical therapy Association and served as chair of several committees.
