In episode 192 I continue my conversation with Dt. Pierre Côté, an epidemiologist and researcher. He studies neck and back pain and disability and its association with mental health. We discuss the keys to recovery, factors that influence an individual's likelihood of becoming disabled, how the workplace is affected and what keys play an important role in the return to work. All this and more this week on MCF!

Dr. Côté is an epidemiologist and Canada Research Chair in Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation from the Canadian Government.  He is an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Ontario Institute of Technology and an Associate Professor of Epidemiology at the Dalla Lana School of Public Health at the University of Toronto.   In 2012, he was mandated by the Government of Ontario to develop evidence-based Clinical Practice Guidelines for the management of traffic injuries.  He submitted his report on the management of Common Traffic injuries to the Ontario Government in 2015. Dr. Côté¹s research focuses on understanding the etiology, prognosis and evidence-based management of musculoskeletal pain and disability and mental health. Dr. Côté has published more than 200 scientific papers.

We hope to deliver this content to the committed professional who wants to improve his/her care and we hope to do it in a way that is easily accessible, the world over, in today's technological age.
