In episode 191 I’m joined by Dr Pierre Cote. A chiropractor, epidemiologists and researcher who studies the association of back and neck pain to disability and it’s interaction with mental health. We hear his story, his thoughts on what is most associated with the aetiology of musculoskeletal pain, what is its effect on or from mental health and more.  This week on MCF!

Dr. Côté is an epidemiologist and Canada Research Chair in Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation from the Canadian Government.  He is an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Ontario Institute of Technology and an Associate Professor of Epidemiology at  the Dalla Lana School of Public Health at the University of Toronto.  In 2012, he was mandated by the Government of Ontario to develop evidence-based Clinical Practice Guidelines for the management of traffic injuries.  He submitted his report on the management of Common Traffic injuries to the Ontario Government in 2015. Dr. Côté¹s research focuses on understanding the etiology, prognosis and evidence-based management of musculoskeletal pain and disability and mental health.
