In episode 162 I'm joined by Dr. Thom Walsh. He's a consultant, diplomat in Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy and author who's helping organizations create greater value with their care. He shares his journey, how he began collecting patient-reported outcomes and what he views makes up effective and usable data for improved care. This week on MCF!
Dr. Thom Walsh completed his masters in physical therapy at D’Youville college in 1992. He became a board certified orthopedic clinical specialist in 1995 and a diplomat in Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy in 1995. He went on to receive a masters in Evaluative Sciences in 2002, a PhD in Health Policy in 2012 and he completed a post doctoral fellowships at the Dartmouth Center for Healthcare Delivery in 2014. He is the founder and chief strategy officer for Cardinal Point Healthcare Solutions, the co-founder of Connected Healthcare Solutions, an adjunct faculty at Dartmouth Institute for Health Policy and Clinical Practice, amongst other current and prior responsibilities. He is the author of the book, “Navigating to Value in Healthcare” about to be released March 2017. He resides in Pasedena, California USA.
