Case #87 - Audrey Long

$15.00

In case #87, we are joined by Ms. Audrey Long of Calgary, Canada just north of Denver, Colorado USA. She is an outpatient physiotherapist in private practice for 16 years, working 4 days a week to leave time for teaching with the McKenzie institute Part A- D courses, and also working with various committees, along with her love of research. Audrey presents a very recent case of a 60 y/o female with right side sacral/coccyx pain due to a fall on ice. A good review of Laslett's tests, asking various characteristics of pain, the importance of previous home exercises, condition management, and recovery of function are also discussed, along with "real time" data sent by the patient during our conversation. We listen in as Audrey gives a thorough review and touches on a number of insights including how to approach a return patient who has good knowledge and understanding of the examination and treatment process of MDT, gathering solid extremity baselines, and using the SIJ provocation tests help to decide whether it is the lumbar spine or the SI joint that is driving the pain.
