$15.00

In case # 17 I'm joined by Mr. Chris Chase of Austin, TX USA.  He's a therapist and assistant educator at the McKenzie Institute Diploma training site at St. David's Rehabilitation Sport and Spine Center.  We discuss a 58 year old female with the complaint of anterior right knee pain. In this case, Mr. Chase gives a great summary of the basic information that is needed to establish a likely mechanical diagnosis.  He reviews the timeline and the phases of healing once injury is incurred.  He reminds the listener of the hallmark of extremity derangement and a common mistake he sees students makes specific to observation skills of patients with extremity complaints.

When working with obese patients Chris has found some alternative loads are better in getting them to end range and he shares those.  We also discuss some strategies that he's found helpful to head off those patients who fall off the schedule canceling or rescheduling and then fail to return.

If you want some great clinical discussion from a veteran therapist teaching at an international diploma-level practicum, this is a great episode of Case Conversations.
