Session 042202 with Christian Garlich
Session 042202 with Christian Garlich
In session 042202 we're continuing on our focus this month focusing on two elbow patients with similar location of symptoms yet clearly different characteristics including differences in the history and physical exam, differences in loss of motion and whether the pain is at end range or pain during motion, differences in spinal assessment, and differences with response to repeated movement exams. Our second case, this session is with Christian Garlich, a diplomat and MI Germany faculty who shares a 40 year old male with localized elbow pain. Christian walks us through the patient's history and how he interpreted the report of consistent pain, delayed increased pain the day after activity, no report of neck symptoms, and no stiffness. He explains some observations he's studied from Jill Cook and other international authorities on tendinopathy. He uses illustrations on total tendon size and histological studies on healthy versus pathological tissue from research and how he uses that with patients when appropriate. This is an excellent case especially when compared to our first case this month with Brian McClenehan.
